Hehir back on the blue line

Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the return of 20-year-old defenceman Dylan Hehir.

Promising ‘D’ man Hehir broke through the junior ranks at Billingham to make his senior debut for the Stars in their 2018-19 campaign, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists in 12 league games whilst also being crowned an Under 20s champion and registering 16 points in 13 games as Billingham’s Under 18s top points scoring defenceman.

In his second senior campaign, Hehir featured in 24 league games in NIHL North 1, recording 2 goals and 8 assists to finish the season as the Stars’ top points scoring defenceman. In the same campaign, he also averaged more than 2 points per game for the Under 18s and made 2 appearances for Leeds Chiefs in the National Ice Hockey League. He moved to Warriors at the beginning of the 2021-22 season.

Dylan, son of former Whitley Warrior Simon Hehir, returns to Whitley after a superb debut season on Tyneside, scooping 18 points and Best Defenceman award before also being voted Hillheads Player of the Year by the supporters.

Welcome back Dylan!
