Warriors delighted to take their place in new look NIHL North Division 1

Whitley Warriors As many fans will have seen the set up of the NIHL North leagues has a different look to for the 2017/18 season with a number of new teams now set to ice against Warriors in Division 1 of the Northern Section of NIHL hockey in England. With the demise of the English Premier League, Division 1 of NIHL North and South are now the 2nd tier of British hockey.

Finlinson joins up with Warriors

Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce that 19 year old forward Adam Finlinson will be part of their squad for the 2017/8 season. Finlinson played his hockey for the Swindon Wildcats last season in the now defunct English Premier league picking up 10 points during the course of their entire league and play off campaign.

Ross returns to his roots

Whitley Warriors Kyle Ross will ice for Warriors next term having spent the 2016/17 campaign in North America continuing his hockey education. Kyle first iced for Warriors in the 2013/14 season and went onto appear in the 2 following campaigns for Whitley as he became accustomed to hockey at senior level.

Lawson confirmed on Warriors 2017/18 roster

Whitley Warriors are pleased to announce that senior netminder Richie Lawson will once again be plying his trade at Hillheads during the 2017/18 campaign. Richie has proven himself to be one of the top goaltenders in NIHL North in recent years and his presence as Warriors last line of defence gives Head Coach David Longstaff and Assistant Coach Dave Holland a solid base to build their roster upon. Callum Watson Whitley Warriors presentation night took place on Friday 21st April when the clubs players and supporters came together at the end of the 2016/17 NIHL North Division 1 campaign.
