Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the return of 22-year-old defenceman Matty McDonald.

Previous to stepping up to senior level hockey last year, McDonald divided his ice time between the Braves and the Renegades from 2016 to 2018 and was made captain of the former in his second campaign, scoring 14 goals and 9 assists in 18 league games to finish the season as his side’s fourth highest points scorer.

McDonald, who will again wear shirt #5 for the Warriors, then played two further seasons for the Renegades and captained the team in his 2019-20 campaign during which he contributed 5 points in 13 league games. In his first season for Whitley Warriors, he impressed the coaches and fans alike and was rewarded for his efforts by receiving the Most Improved Player award for 2021-22.

Welcome back, Matty!
