Whitley Warriors can confirm that last season’s top scorer Adam Reynolds will be out of action for significant period of time having broken his ankle in last weekend’s clash with the Sutton Sting.
Adam left the game during the 2nd period with a severely swollen ankle and went to hospital the next day when it was confirmed he had broken his ankle. Initially it was thought he would be out of action for a minimum of 8 weeks however the players thinks a return around the Christmas/New Year period is a more likely scenario. Everyone in the Warriors organisation would like to wish Adam all the best in his recovery.
Teenage netminder Jordan Boyle who stepped up into the senior set up at Hillheads during the summer has opted to join the Solway Sharks for the remainder of the current season. Jordan faced stiff competition to earn a spot on Warriors roster with netminders Richie Lawson, Joe Harley and Mark Turnbull all competing for a squad berth.
It is thought that Jordan will act as Sharks back up goalie behind the experienced goaltender Gary Russell. The youngster is likely to see a healthy amount of ice time due to Russell’s work commitments which typically see the hugely talented netminder miss a number of games during a full campaign. Jordan leave Warriors with the clubs best wishes and everyone at Hillheads wishes him well in his career in hockey.
