Neck guards to be provided to all Warriors players

Working in partnership with our main sponsor Vain Hairdressing, Whitley Warriors will be providing neck guards to all senior players if they choose to wear them.

The tragic events of last weekend have brought player safety into focus and we wish to provide these items to players. As a club we would encourage all players to wear them but it will be a personal choice based on the player’s own wishes.

Caroline Ogden from Vain Hairdressing said, “After the weekend’s tragic accident, I would like to offer to work in partnership with Whitley Warriors to provide a neck guard for every player. As a parent of a hockey player it worries me that this could happen again and I wish to help make our players as safe as we can on game day.”

Whitley Warriors General Manager Willie Dunn said, “Tony [Hand] and I had discussed this prior to Caroline contacting us. We feel that the wearing of a neck guard should be a player’s choice but we will encourage our players to wear them for all games and in training. We would like to thank Caroline for her help in this and for her commitment to the strong partnership between Vain Hairdressing and Whitley Warriors.”
