Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Matty Betham.
Betham, 20, is Maroon and Gold through and through having only played for Whitley Bay, starting in 2016 with the Under 15s. By 2018 he was named Under 15s alternate captain, a role he would reprise in 2021 with the Under 18s. He made his senior debut the same year and has built on his talent since.
“I’m looking forward to getting back with the Warriors,” Betham told us. “We have a solid team with a mix of experience and younger talent coming in, there’s no reason why we can’t be bringing trophies back this year.”
Head Coach Tony Hand said, “Matty was happy to come back and I went over with him what is needed to progress and push others for more ice time. I look forward to seeing him doing that.”
