Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of young goaltender Jacob Midgley.
The talented 18-year-old joined Whitley Warriors last season after having just broken through into senior hockey. Starting with Bradford Bulldogs’ junior setup, he played for a multitude of teams on loan at U16 and U18 level before settling at Leeds Knights juniors. As well as competing for a place in the lineup at Whitley last season he also backed up for Blackburn Hawks as a guest in NIHL North Division 1.
“I’m very happy to be re-signing for the 2026-27 season,” Jacob told us. “I really enjoyed last season and they’re a great bunch of lads so I’m looking forward to what we can do this coming season.”
Head Coach Tony Hand is keen to continue Midgley’s hockey education. “Jacob has been training with us for over a year and has looked good,” he said. “He got some game time last season and did very well. Working alongside Tom will help him develop this season, as will more on ice opportunities.”
Welcome back Jacob!
