Bring a Buddy, Become Assistant coach for the evening

After an excellent turnout for their first home game of the new season against Solway Sharks last weekend, Whitley Warriors are launching Bring a Buddy to the Battle of the Bay.

The club are urging their current fans to bring a buddy or two to experience the local derby on Sunday 15th September (face off 5pm), when Warriors host local rivals Billingham Stars. It promises to be a night to remember – whether it’s a new face to ice hockey or a face from the past, we’re hoping to pack the Wigwam out so let’s get to work and spread the word.

The game will have an extra edge as Warriors now have last year’s Stars head coach Simon Leach, along with two players, Karl Culley and Ross Hanlon, who played for Stars last season and are now wearing the Maroon and Gold.

Along with the excitement of the local derby, Warriors head coach Simon Leach is giving one lucky Warriors supporter the opportunity to become one of his assistant coaches for the home game against Sutton Sting on Sunday 20 October.

This fantastic prize will involve arriving at Whitley Bay Ice Rink early in the afternoon, being able to see exactly what the coaches do before, during and after a game.

To enter, simply log in and answer our question below. The competition closes at midnight on the evening of Saturday 5 October and the winner will be announced at the Telford game the following evening. If the winner is under 16, he/she must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Full terms and conditions are listed below.
