Whitley Warriors would like to announce the return of defenceman Harry Harley.

24-year-old Harley came through the junior ranks at Whitley Bay and made his Warriors debut in 2011-12, bagging 6 goals and 9 assists from 21 appearances in his first season. He also iced for Great Britain Under-18s that year before a move to Peterborough Phantoms the following season. Harry returned to Warriors shortly afterwards and, apart from a brief spell at Hull Pirates last season, has patrolled the Whitley blue line since.

Harry told us, “I’m delighted to sign back with the Warriors again, it’s always great playing for my hometown team. With the form we were in towards the back end of last season, if we can keep that going into the new season hopefully we can challenge for the league title.”

“It’s another coup for the club in re-signing Harry and fending off other teams and shows we can still secure top players in our league,” General Manager Paul Matthews said. “Harry is a consistent player who we are overjoyed to be signing again.”

Welcome back Harry!
