Whitley Warriors are today pleased to announce the signing of netminder Sam Elsom.
Sam follows a number of players in recent years in making the step up from recreational hockey to the NIHL and will widen the team’s options between the pipes.
“This is my first time playing at league level, only previously playing rec with Durham and at University,” Sam told us. “Paul [Matthews] and Lobby [David Longstaff] asked me to help out with pre-season training and from there they asked if I would like to sign. It’s a great opportunity I’ve been given and I’m really excited to get going.
“The strength within the roster is fantastic and I will help support anyway I can,” he continued. Sam will wear shirt #33 and, like all players, is available for sponsorship immediately.
