Left winger Ben Campbell has scooped up the EIHA’s NIHL North 1 Player of the Month award for December after being shortlisted alongside Solway Sharks’ Slovakian left winger Peter Gápa and defenceman Liam Stenton.
Scoring in all four of the league games Whitley played last month, Campbell contributed a total of 5 goals and 7 assists across these fixtures which included a road trip against Nottingham Lions, a home fixture against Solihull Barons and consecutive games against Billingham Stars. Besides achieving a brace against the Lions at the start of the month, Campbell impressed when Whitley hosted the Stars on the 29th December, opening the scoring just thirteen seconds into the derby game. Combining his speed and skill, Campbell is one of the Warriors’ top goal scorers and the second highest points scorer in NIHL North 1 with 31 points from 12 league games.
Instrumental in Whitley’s recent victories, Ben is certainly deserving of this award and everyone at Whitley Warriors would like to congratulate him on his accomplishment.
