Whitley Warriors are delighted to confirm the return of skilful forward Adam Finlinson to their roster for the 2021-22 campaign.

Finlinson started out with the Northern Stars’ Under 16s team before making the switch to Whitley’s junior setup where he remained until 2013. A move to Kingston Sharks followed, the forward dividing his ice time between their Under 16s and Under 18s sides further to fulfilling the role of alternate captain for the former.

Whilst breaking into senior ice hockey with EPL outfit Swindon Wildcats in their 2014-15 season, Finlinson iced for Okanagan Hockey Academy UK’s Under 18s in the same campaign, racking up 67 points in 16 games, and he also featured in 5 games for Team GB at the World Junior Championships, collecting a bronze medal at the tournament.

After two further seasons at Swindon, Finlinson returned to Hillheads in 2017, tallying 6 goals and 9 assists in 21 league games for Whitley before a short break from the sport. The forward was then a welcome addition to the Warriors’ line-up in their recent title-winning campaign, notching 21 points in 13 league games to better the points production of his first season at the club.

On re-signing for the Warriors, Finlinson told us yesterday, “I’m buzzing to be back playing again after our league-winning season was cut short due to Covid. It’s been a crazy 18 months and I’m just glad there’s something that we can all look forward to. I can’t wait to see all the lads and pick up from where we left off in the 2019-20 season and hopefully put on a show for our fans.”

Welcome back, Adam!
