Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of netminder Sam Elsom.

After making the step up from the BUIHA with Northumbria Kings, Elsom was one of four netminders on Whitley’s roster in their title-winning season and picked up some ice time in October 2019, netminding during the last period of a league game against Nottingham Lions to maintain the Warriors’ shutout. He then received some game time one week later in a cup contest against Dundee Comets and notched an assist just 112 seconds after taking his place in net.

“I’m really happy to have been asked by Paul and David to re-sign after my first season,” Elsom said when speaking of his decision to return this campaign. “We had a terrific previous run and I’m eager to see what lies ahead for us this year. It’s been a hard 18 months for everyone so I’ll be glad to get back into a regular hockey routine and to see all of the lads and some friendly faces around the rink.”

Welcome back, Sam!
