Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the signing of 19-year-old defenceman Dylan Hehir from Billingham Stars.

Promising ‘D’ man Hehir broke through Billingham’s junior ranks to make his senior debut for the Stars in their 2018-19 campaign, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists in 12 league games whilst also being crowned an Under 20s champion and registering 16 points in 13 games as Billingham’s Under 18s top points scoring defenceman.

In his second senior campaign, Hehir featured in 24 league games in NIHL North 1, recording 2 goals and 8 assists to finish the season as the Stars’ top points scoring defenceman. In the same campaign, he also averaged more than 2 points per game for the Under 18s and made 2 appearances for Leeds Chiefs in the National Ice Hockey League.

Now opting to sign for Whitley, Hehir, who will wear shirt #12 this campaign, told us yesterday, “I can’t wait for the new season and to start playing for the Warriors after a long break from hockey. A new start gives me that excitement to be playing again. I made the decision to play for Whitley to develop my game whilst playing alongside a great group of players hoping to challenge for the league and the cup.”

Welcome to Whitley Warriors, Dylan!
