After discussions this week with Rolands Gritāns’ site manager, Rolands has managed to agree a new shift pattern opening up his availability on weekends. Rolands is still working on weekends but going forward will be able to dress the majority of the games and carry on his affiliation with Whitley Warriors.

General Manager Paul Matthews said, “Last week when David and I spoke with Roly about his work, it was bittersweet as we were pleased he had secured a job but when we realised it was weekend work too, that’s when we had a problem with his availability.

“Rolands and his family have settled well with life in the North East and he has worked hard on and off the ice over the last three years and we feel it would have been really disappointing for Rolands to end playing just because of work.

“But with this positive news it strengthens our claim for another successful season”.

Rolands will be available for tonight’s game at Solway Sharks.
