Safety

Although we try to make the ice rink environment as safe as possible for everyone, there are some things we need to make you aware of.

Flash photography is not permitted during the game

The players skate at speed and a camera flash could disorient them and cause an accident. While we encourage you to use your phone torch when the lights go down before the game, please ensure that the flash/torch on your device is switched off when the game is in play.

Bad language and antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated at Whitley Bay Ice Rink

If you witness antisocial behaviour or bad language, you are encouraged to report it to a member of ice rink staff.

Please remain seated while the game is in play, and ensure children remain seated too

Moving around the stands can disturb other spectators enjoying the game. It is not safe for children to run around the stands unattended.

Be aware of the location of the puck throughout the game

Ice hockey is a game played at a fast pace. Although there are safety barriers between the seating stands and ice, occasionally the puck may leave the ice, come over the plexiglass and into the seating area. Please keep your eye on the puck at all times!
