Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the return of 25-year-old Canadian import Phil Edgar for the 2018-19 season.
A firm fan favourite last season, Phil made an impact at Whitley Bay notching up 41 points (30 goals and 11 assists) from 31 games with 16 minutes in penalties.
Phil is from Kitchener in Ontario and played for the University of Waterloo before heading over the Atlantic last September.
Although Phil played as a forward last season, he played his junior hockey as a defenceman and therefore gives us great options as he can patrol the blue line and also play forward when required giving us more of an attacking threat.
“I’m extremely excited to be coming back to Whitley Bay for another season,” he told us. “I’m looking forward to seeing all the lads again as well as the fans. I just can’t wait to get back on the ice and hopefully make a difference in every game.” Phil will be flying in later this week and will be in the team to face Telford Tigers at Hillheads on Sunday evening.
