Whitley Warriors last league game of the season saw David Longstaff and his side travel down to Teesside for a local derby against the Billingham Stars on Sunday evening. Warriors were without Andre Payette and Shaun Kippin who were both suspended following last weekend’s game with the Solway Sharks. Going into the game Warriors knew they needed to win to keep their play off hopes alive and hope other results went their way.
Whitley Warriors headed down to North Wales to take on the Deeside Dragons in a NIHL North Division 1 match up on Sunday evening. Warriors were able to include teenage forward Jamie Ord in their squad for the first time as the youngster is now eligible to play senior hockey as he has turned 16 recently.
Whitley Warriors took on fellow play off contenders the Solihull Barons on Sunday evening in a road game. Warriors were a little short of bodies in defence for the clash with Barons as the likes of Dan Pye and Joe Stamp were unable to make the trip down to the Midlands for the NIHL North Division 1 match up.
Whitley Warriors had a busy weekend as David Longstaff's side had an away double header in which they faced Sutton Sting and the Solihull Barons in 2 testing road games.
On Sunday evening Warriors travelled down to Teesside to take on the Billingham Stars in a NIHL North Division 1 match up. Warriors travelled with a strong squad of players to choose from though the in form Jordan Barnes did miss the short trip down the A19. Whitley opted to start Jordan Boyle in goal following a number of impressive displays from the youngster in recent weeks.
Whitley Warriors took to the ice in NIHL North Division 1 action on Sunday evening when they took on the Solway Sharks on home ice. Warriors were able to name a strong roster of players including the likes of import Andre Payette, d men Josh Maddock and Dan Pye and forwards such as Dean Holland, DJ Good and Callum Watson.
