Whitley Warriors first competitive game of the 2014/15 campaign sees them head to the north west tomorrow (Sunday) evening to take on the Blackburn Hawks. Warriors are at full strength for the contest against last season’s NIHL North League and Play Off runners up.
It had been thought that Warriors experienced forward Daniel Good could miss the first game of the regular season with a hand injury he suffered in the challenge game up at Kirkcaldy however Whitley’s former captain had been passed fit and he will travel with his teammates down to Lancashire tomorrow.
Blackburn have already played 2 competitive games this season they claimed a comprehensive victory by 11 goals to 3 over their local rivals the Manchester Minotaurs in league action last Saturday and then picked up a hugely impressive 4-0 cup success against the Solway Sharks on Sunday.
Hawks are certainly having a hectic start to the season as Blackburn are in action again this (Saturday) evening when they travel up to Scotland to take on the Solway Sharks once again in cup action. Blackburn skipper Chris Arnone and Adam Brittle are both suspended for the Sharks game but both players are thought to be available for Hawks when Warriors visit Blackburn on Sunday night.
