Whitley Warriors are delighted to confirm the signing of defenceman Liam Smedley for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
No stranger to the Maroon and Gold, Smedley first played for Warriors in 2014-15 where he notched 2 goals and 2 assists in 18 games. Scoring only four times for the senior club, Liam’s on-ice priority has always been keeping the opposing team at bay and he managed this over six consecutive seasons at Hillheads, accumulating no more than 12 minutes in penalties in any season.
Smedley did not return to Warriors after the pandemic, opting to take time out from the game, but is now ready to lace up the skates again. He will wear his usual #8 shirt this season.
