Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce that forward Matty Betham has re-signed for the new season.
Betham, 19, is maroon and gold through and through having only played for Whitley Bay, starting in 2016 with the Under 15s. By 2018 he was named Under 15s alternate captain, a role he would reprise in 2021 with the Under 18s. He made his senior debut the same year and has built on his talent since.
“Tony will be a big inspiration for the club and help improve my own game,” Betham told us. “I’m looking forward to being part of a new era at Whitley.”
“Matty is another promising local lad that we want to help step up this season and contribute points,” Head Coach Tony Hand said.
