Whitley Warriors unfortunately do not have a game this weekend due to NIHL North scheduling however the gap in Warriors fixtures has meant that Whitley Head Coach Simon Leach has been able to give his squad some time away from the rink recently to rest and recuperate.
Simon spoke about Warriors training regime and also of the injured players on his roster.
“I gave the players all of last week off training as we had a few extra niggling injuries. Paul Matthews will soon be having a light skate to see how his knee is.
“I am hoping to have Rob Wilson back in training also. Jordan Barnes will see the consultant sometime within the week to get the results of his scan on his knee but it looks like he will be long term like Adam Reynolds who is out of action with a broken ankle.”
Whitley beat the Manchester Minotaurs in their last game on back on the 19th October at Hillheads a superb result for the entire Warriors organisation however due to lack of fixtures Whitley have been unable to take the momentum gained from such a comprehensive victory into their NIHL North campaign.
The clubs next competitive fixture is on Saturday November 8th when Whitley travel to the north west to take on Manchester in a NIHL North Division 1 match up. Warriors next home game is the following day on Sunday 9th November (face off 5pm) when the Solway Sharks travel down to Tyneside for a St Andrews Cup game. Whitley are 4-1 down following the 1st leg of the cup tie that was held in Dumfries recently and Simon Leach’s side will be looking to overturn the deficit against the Sharks on home ice.
