Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce that club Captain Shaun Kippin will once again ice for the Maroon and Gold in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Stalwart Kippin played his first game for Warriors in 2002-03 as an Under 16. Now 37, he has played all his senior hockey at Hillheads with the exception of two seasons at Deeside Dragons between 2012 and 2014. He took over the captaincy last season after a season as Alternate Captain but has always been a respected figure within the team.
We spoke to Shaun on returning for his seventeenth season at Whitley Warriors.
“I am very happy to be back,” he told us. “It was disappointing to lose in the semis last year, but this has made me more determined to be better next year.”
Head Coach Tony Hand spoke about Kippin’s return: “I am delighted that Shaun has decided to return for another season and he had no hesitation in doing so. Shaun is one of the many players that have agreed to return for the new season.”
We have already agreed with a number of players to return and we will be announcing these over the coming weeks!
