Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce that industrious forward Kyle Ross has re-signed for the 2024-25 campaign.
26-year-old Ross began his junior ice hockey career with Newcastle Vipers before switching to Whitley Tomahawks in 2010. In his third season with the Under 16s outfit, he progressed to fulfil the role of alternate captain, achieving 22 points in 17 league games, in addition to icing for the Braves. In his 2013-14 campaign, Ross made his senior debut with the Warriors as a forward, making a total of 21 appearances in which he recorded his first goal and assist for the side.
After another two seasons with the Warriors, Ross made the decision to leave Whitley for CPJHL outfit Norwood Nemesis in Canada, racking up 11 goals and 22 assists in 39 league games before returning to Hillheads in the season that followed. A former Hillheads Player of the Year, Ross goes into his tenth season at the club.
“Despite some ups and downs last season, I’m happy to be back,” Kyle said. “Hopefully with some consistency and teamwork we can bring home some silverware!”
“Kyle had his best point-scoring season last year and I believe there is more to come,” Head Coach Tony Hand told us. “Kyle can play a big part next season and it was good that he agreed to come back.”
Welcome back Kyle!
