Yarrow signs up for the new season

Owen Yarrow returning for the 2024-25 season

Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce that young forward Owen Yarrow has re-signed for the upcoming season.

A product of the Whitley Bay junior system, Yarrow recorded his first points in the Under 15s in 2017 before going on to captain the side two years later. A spell with the Under 18s followed before making his senior debut two years ago.

Yarrow, son of former Whitley Warrior Alan Yarrow, missed much of last season due to injury, only returning towards the back end of the campaign but he’s looking forward to the 2024-25 season already. “I’m glad to be back for another season,” he said last week. “With the team that we have there is no reason why we can’t get some silverware.”

“Owen was very unlucky with injury last year,” Head Coach Tony Hand said. “He missed most of the season and even when he came back he was not fully fit.

“We spoke and Owen has said he will be working hard over the summer and will be ready to show his full potential in the new season and I look forward to working with him.”

Welcome back Owen!
