Whitley Warriors are sad to announce that talented defenceman Matty McDonald will leave the club after this weekend’s games.
Matty will be moving south to take up a job opportunity and will relocate near Cambridge. We would like to thank Matty for his service to Whitley Warriors and wish him well in the future.
“I’d like to thank the fans for their unbelievable support in the past few seasons,” Matty told us. “I’d also like to thank the staff, coaches and players for their constant hard work and I wish the team the best of luck for the season ahead!”
“Matty is a big loss for us,” Head Coach Tony Hand said. “He was one of our most consistent performers last season. We wish him well in his new job.”
Matty will play in this weekend’s pre-season double-header with Billingham Stars before moving away. The club has moved to sign a defenceman and will announce this in the coming days when registration has been completed.
