17-year-old Ethan Dunn broke into the Warriors roster last year and had such a good season he won Young Player of the Year despite not yet being a full-time Warrior.

“After experiencing what playing at senior level is like last season I believe I can use that experience along with hard working off-season to be a strength in next seasons squad,” Ethan said.

Ollie Jardine

Ollie Jardine, who celebrates his 16th birthday soon, came through the Whitley ranks and has represented England at Under 14 and Under 15 level, and Great Britain at Under 16.

“I’m really excited to be making the transition into senior hockey,” Ollie said.”As a younger player the experience on this team is great for me to learn from. I’m looking forward to what we can achieve this season.”

Jack Williams, 16, is another product of  Whitley Bay Junior Ice Hockey Club. Starting his hockey career in 2019, he is currently Alternate Captain of the Under 18 side.

“This is something I’ve wanted for years and I’m looking forward to getting started,” Jack said. “I trained with the team last year and worked hard to get noticed.”

George Cowey

16-year-old George Cowey featured in the roster last season and performed well in often short-benched circumstances. He has represented England at Under 14 and Under 15.

“Having come through the junior system at Whitley Bay, it’s brilliant to get the chance to play for the team I’ve grown up watching,” George told us. “The senior players were extremely welcoming and supportive last season. I’m excited to work hard, compete, and contribute to the team as I continue my development.”

Head Coach Tony Hand was complimentary about all four of his new recruits. “George played a number of games at the end of last season after training with us. George is a very calm player and I believe he has a lot to offer us,” he said. “Ethan impressed me last season with his work ethic and commitment on and off the ice and I believe he can push on this season.

Ollie has trained with us for over a year now and if I could, I would have brought him in last year. I am looking forward to seeing him grow in the Warriors team. Jack is another junior that has trained with us last season and really kicked on towards the end but we could not get him into the squad because of the cut-off date. I’m looking forward to seeing him in our team.”

All four players are still classed as juniors but are playing up to senior level. In a break from previous seasons, they will all have their own squad numbers and will all be included in our new player sponsorship options to be announced this week.

Welcome George, Jack, Ollie and Ethan!
