Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of hardworking forward Ross Douglass.
Now heading into his ninth season at the club, 25-year-old Douglass progressed through Whitley’s junior ranks, icing with the Under 15s and Under 18s, fulfilling the role of alternate captain for both sides.
Douglass made his senior debut with the Warriors in his 2016-17 campaign, playing 17 league games in NIHL North 1 further to captaining the Under 20s. The forward then completed his transition to the senior team and bagged 9 goals and 6 assists last season, with 36 minutes in penalties.
Work schedule conflicts meant that Ross missed part of last season, returning to the ice in January this year and seeing last season through to the end.
“I’m glad to be back for the season with the Warriors and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead in a new league,” Ross said.
Head Coach Tony Hand said, “It was good to get Ross back at the ned of last season and I know he is keen to get started this year.”
