Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Jay Lucas for the upcoming season.
21-year-old forward Lucas came through Billingham’s junior system before joining Whitley Under 18s and Under 20s in 2019-20, where he was named England U18 North Most Penalty Minutes, a title also previously held by current teammate Liam Smedley and former Warrior Tom Ralph.
Now going into his fourth senior season, Jay is a calmer presence on the ice but isn’t afraid to show his face in the sin bin with his 39 minutes in penalties last season.
“I am excited to see the next chapter of this club and experience something different this year,” Jay said. “I feel we have something to prove with that in mind.”
Head Coach Tony Hand said, “Jay can grab a place on our team and I’m looking forward to seeing him coming in fit and hungry to succeed.”
