Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old netminder Thomas Brown.
Warriors fans will know Brown from his time at local rivals Billingham Stars but he did have a short stint at Whitley in 2017-18, icing for the U18s, U20s and once for the senior team.
Born in Middlesbrough, Thomas spent time during his childhood in Canada and was able to enjoy time in the junior systems over there. He moved back to the UK, joining the Whitley junior outfits before heading to Billingham and his Teesside roots. More recently he has made appearances for Romford Raiders and Sheffield Steeldogs but has spent some time out of the game. He now feels he is ready to step back between the pipes.
“I’m excited to be rejoining the Warriors organisation,” he told us. “After some time away from the game to heal and recover from past seasons I’m excited to be coming back and close to home.
“Over the years Whitley has always been one of the toughest teams to play and I’m happy to be playing with the fans on my side this time!
“I’m excited for the new challenge in a new league and with the group we have we’ll be looking to compete for trophies right away.See you soon Warriors fans!”
“I’m delighted to add Tom to the squad,” Head Coach Tony Hand said. “We will have two very strong goalies that will push each other and help us win games.”
