Whitley Warriors are delighted to welcome The Turks Head in Tynemouth as Man of the Match sponsor for the 2025-26 season.
The Turks Head pub has been part of Tynemouth since the 1700s, named for the Turks Head knot, it started life as a sailors pub and has remained the hub of the community in Tynemouth ever since, and is now one of the last traditional pubs in the village. We’re known not just for our high quality ales, fast service, and delicious pizzas, but for our most famous resident, the famed deceased canine celebrity “Wandering Willie” who has been cared for and loved in our bar for 145 years.
Assistant Manager and massive Warriors fan Beth McKean said, “We’re thrilled to be able to help sponsor Whitley Warriors because we love local sports, and encouraging people to support local teams. As part of this sponsorship we’ll be streaming Whitley Warriors TV highlights and interviews in the bar, and plan to stay open late to show matches from the Stanley Cup next year. We’ll be cheering on Whitley Warriors all this season, and wish them the best of luck in their new campaign in their new league.”
