Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Cameron Ware.
Ware, 24, has been playing ACHA college hockey for the last three years while at Maryville University in St Louis, Missouri and is moving to the UK to further his education in cybersecurity. Prior to that, he was captain of Dryden Ice Dogs in the SIJHL.
At 6’6”, Ware is an imposing figure on the ice, which runs in the family: Cameron is the son of former Murrayfield Racers and Cardiff Devils import Mike Ware.
“I’m really excited to be playing for the Warriors,” Cameron told us. ”To have the opportunity to play in the UK and improve my education is great! I can’t wait to hit the ice and meet all the fans. My dad has told me the hockey fans in the UK are very passionate and I can’t wait to experience it.”
Head Coach Tony Hand said, “When Cameron’s dad Mike Ware contacted me to say Cameron was coming to the UK I thought it was a good fit for him to join the Warriors and I’m looking forward to seeing what he will bring.”
Cameron will wear the number 29 shirt this season and is immediately available for player sponsorship.
Welcome to Whitley Warriors, Cameron!
