Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Anthony Wetherell for the 2026-27 season.
Another product of Whitley’s successful junior programme, Wetherell started out in 2013-14 icing with the Under 15s and the Under 18s, progressing to fulfil the role of alternate captain for the former the following season. The 26-year-old has been a regular in the Warriors roster since 2018 but missed much of the last two seasons through injury or work commitments.
“I am excited to be back for another season with the Warriors,” Wetherell said. “Last season was a new adventure for the team and hopefully this year we can go on to bring back some silverware”
“I’m glad Anth will be back next season,” Head Coach Tony Hand said. “He brings real energy to the team when he is with us and always gives 100% effort.”
