Kyle Ross will ice for Warriors next term having spent the 2016/17 campaign in North America continuing his hockey education. Kyle first iced for Warriors in the 2013/14 season and went onto appear in the 2 following campaigns for Whitley as he became accustomed to hockey at senior level.
Kyle spent last season icing in the CPJHL for the Essa Stallions and the Norwood Nemesis averaging just under a point per game during his times in North America a superb return for the youngster in an unfamiliar environment. The youngster’s high energy game will no doubt trouble many a NIHL North defence next term as the youngster returns to the British set up.
The 19 year forward shared his thoughts on his year away from home and the reasons behind his return to the north east.
“My year away was fun and I learnt a lot of things both on and off the ice. I switched back to the UK because of my baby Hope and I was happy to be offered to play for the Warriors again as I learnt a lot when I played for them.”
Kyle went onto outline his thoughts on being back in the Warriors fold and which parts of his game have improved during his time in North America.
“I am looking forward to icing for the Warriors as they have amazing fans and it’s a good environment to be in with the team. I feel like I have improved a lot on my strength when I was away as the league out there was physically demanding.”
I’m sure all of the Warriors supporters wish Kyle all the best for the upcoming season.
