Whitley Coach Simon Leach has named another 3 players Callum Watson, Josh Maddock and Christian Johnson who will all be part of his Warriors roster for the coming campaign. Since being appointed coach last week Simon has now been able to name a total of 11 players who will form part of next seasons squad.
Callum Watson is a superb re-signing for Whitley as he was Warriors top scorer last term with a superb total of 49 (17+32) points in 28 outings. Callum was also a key member of Whitley’s specialist teams last season using his speed to great effect on both the powerplay and penalty killing units.
Christian Johnson has been part of the Warriors senior set up for the past 2 seasons now. Christian appeared 27 times for Whitley last term picking up 7 (5+2) points and 8 minutes in penalties. Despite starting the season up front Christian starred when he was moved into defence and won several man of the match awards for his displays back on the blue line.
Josh Maddock is another versatile player who will be in the Warriors ranks next campaign as his adaptability saw him play in both defence and at centre last season. Despite spending some time away from the ice due to injury Maddock iced on 22 occasions for Whitley in the 2012/13 season picking up 2 assists along the way.
It is hoped that Warriors will be able to make a further announcement midweek as Simon continues to build Whitley’s roster for the 2013/14 term.
