As many of you will know the Blackburn Hawks have been trialling their own internet radio station this season broadcasting player interviews, news from their set up and even commentary from some of their games. Earlier this season a Warriors Hawks contest from Hillheads was broadcast on their station which saw a great number of hockey fans listen in to their broadcast.
This venture has been such a success that NIHL Radio is now being launched and a number of NIHL North clubs such as Whitley Warriors, Billingham Stars, Widnes Wild and Deeside Dragons are going to have their own station provided to them from next season by NIHL Radio.
One of the major points behind NIHL Radio is that when no live broadcast is taking place a collection of NIHL related material such as players interviews, weekly reviews and features will be broadcast to keep hockey fans right up to date.
Fans won’t have to wait to next season to listen to NIHL Radio though as all 3 games of the end of season play offs in the Moralee Conference in Dumfries will be broadcast which will enable those supporters unable to attend with up to date information throughout the match ups from knowledgeable commentators.
Further announcements will be made during the close season as to which games will be broadcast in the 2014/15 campaign and also if any other NIHL clubs opt to come on board with the venture.
