Whitley Warriors go into their last game of the 2013/14 NIHL North Moralee Conference campaign knowing a victory over bottom of the table Telford Titans will guarantee Warriors a place at this seasons play off weekend in Dumfries in April.
Whitley are set to go into the game with a full strength squad as Dan Harris who took a stick to the face last weekend should be fit to play while Jamie Tinsley who missed last week’s game due to illness should also return to Warrior roster for their crucial match up with Titans.
Warriors have met Telford on 3 occasions so far this season picking up 2 victories (6-1, 13-1) and 1 draw (5-5) when the side last met in Shropshire in late January. Titans may have lost their opening 18 games of the current campaign however since then Telford have managed to achieve a number of encouraging results and have 2 victories to their name as there were able to defeat the Sheffield Spartans on 2 occasions recently.
Simon Leach (Warriors Coach) shared his views on this coming weekends match up.
“We’ve put ourselves in a great position to qualify for the play offs and we’ve just got to make sure we do the job on our home ice and if we do that we’ll make it to the play off finals weekend.”
“Everyone should be available for the Telford game, Dan Harris took a blow to the face last weekend and had to leave the action but he should be fine for this Sunday’s game.”
Warriors game against the Telford Titans faces off on Sunday evening (5pm) at Hillheads Ice Rink in Whitley Bay. Supporters are encouraged to come along and support their local side as Warriors look to secure qualification for the NIHL North Moralee Conference play off final weekend that takes place in Dumfries, Scotland in mid April.
