Former Whitley Warriors defenceman Paul Matthews has been named as the club’s new General Manager.
Son of Warriors legend Terry Matthews, Paul played over 250 games for Whitley between 1990 and 2015 and was named Captain or Alternate Captain in multiple seasons.
Paul previously held the role of Operations Manager within the organisation. The club have, in effect, amalgamated the two roles and Paul is looking forward to getting started with his new duties.
Paul takes over from Dave Holland, who left the club last week to spend more time with his family and on his business after nearly a decade as part of the Warriors management team.
