Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce that forward Callum Queenan will return to squad next season after three seasons playing in Canada.

Callum made his Warriors debut in 2013-14 after coming through the Whitley junior system. He played three seasons in the maron and gold and also iced for Great Britain Under 18s in 2014-15. In 2016 he moved to Canada to play for Meaford Knights of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) in the Ontario area, racking up 38 goals and 54 assists in 113 appearances with 40 minutes in penalties. Callum captained Knights last season and scooped the Players’ Choice award as voted for by his teammates.

“I’m looking forward to returning to the Warriors and playing with all the lads again,” Callum said last night. “We’ve got a really good squad and I think we could have a good chance in the league this year.”

Callum also spoke of his time playing in the GHML: “Spending the last three years away in Canada was one of the best experiences of my life. I was given a fantastic opportunity to not only meet some amazing people but to also gain some new skills which I will hopefully be able to bring to the team this season.”

Welcome back Callum!
