Whitley Warriors are happy to confirm the re-signing of forward Jamie Ord for their upcoming campaign.
Heading into his fifth season with the Warriors, 20-year-old Ord started out with Whitley’s junior setup, progressing to captain the Tomahawks in his 2015-16 campaign further to icing for the Braves to collectively record 41 goals and 9 assists across 22 league games.
In the following season, Ord made his senior debut with the Warriors, collecting 1 goal and 1 assist in 3 league games whilst also fulfilling the role of alternate captain for the Braves and tallying 33 points in 17 appearances for the Renegades.
For the last three seasons, Ord has divided his ice time between the Under 20s team and the Warriors and most recently played in 12 league games for the senior side, contributing 2 goals and 4 assists whilst proving to be one of the team’s most disciplined players having gone without picking up a single penalty in Whitley’s title-winning campaign.
“I’m excited to be back with the Warriors for another season, especially coming off the high of winning the league,” Ord said when reflecting on his decision to re-sign for the club. “It was a bit bittersweet, getting that far but not being able to compete in the playoffs. Above all, I’m really looking forward to skating out in a Warriors shirt in front of the best fans in the league and hopefully help the lads lift another league trophy and go all the way this time.”
Welcome back, Jamie!
