Whitley Warriors are happy to confirm the re-signing of forward Anthony Wetherell for the season ahead.
Now going into his fifth campaign with the Warriors, 22-year-old Wetherell started out in Whitley’s junior setup, icing with the Tomahawks and the Braves, and progressing to fulfil the role of alternate captain for the former in 2014.
The forward then divided his ice time between the Braves and the Renegades in his 2016-17 campaign further to making 11 appearances for the Warriors in which he recorded his first senior goal and assist.
Though primarily icing for the Renegades in the two seasons which followed, Wetherell also made 13 appearances for the Warriors within that time frame and more recently completed his first full season with David Longstaff’s line-up, collecting 4 assists in 21 league games.
Speaking of his decision to play another season for the Warriors, Wetherell told us, “I am happy to re-sign for the club and I’m really looking forward to getting back to playing after such a long break.”
Welcome back, Anthony!
