Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Jay Lucas for the 2024-25 season.
20-year-old forward Jay Lucas came through Billingham’s junior system before joining Whitley Under 18s and Under 20s in 2019-20, where he was named England U18 North Most Penalty Minutes, a title also previously held by former Whitley Warriors Liam Smedley and Tom Ralph.
Much to the coaching staff’s relief, Lucas has not recreated his haul of penalty minutes at senior level. He is however ready to get back on the ice for the new campaign.
“I’ve loved the past few years here and hope to make even more memories for and with the team and fans,” Lucas said last week.
“I had a long chat with Jay after the season and set some goals for him to come in fit and ready,” said Head Coach Tony Hand. “Jay has good hands and is a good skater. He needs to come in fit and ready to make an impact on the team and I believe he can do that.”
