Whitley Warriors are set to face the Solway Sharks in the Tynesider’s first competitive game of the 2015/16 season on home ice on Sunday September 6th at Hillheads in a game that faces off at 5pm. David Longstaff’s side play their 2nd game of the league campaign down in the Midlands the following weekend as Warriors take on the newly promoted Solihull Barons who claimed the title in NIHL North Division 2 last season.
The first games many fans look for will be the Warriors local derbies against the Billingham Stars and Warriors first clash with their local rivals comes in late October when the Teessiders make the short journey north to Tyneside. Warriors other home fixture against the Stars is set for the final day of January while Whitley’s 2 trips to Billingham are in late November and mid March.
During late October and November Warriors will become well acquainted with the 2 Sheffield sides as Whitley take on the Spartans and Senators in 4 consecutive games. Around Christmas time Warriors face current league and play off champions the Blackburn Hawks on 4 occasions a run of fixtures that will no doubt test Warriors resolve and tenacity.
Warriors end the season with 3 games on the road the final league match of the campaign being a trip to Ice Sheffield to take on the Senators in a game that is scheduled to be played on the 27th March with a 2.00pm face off time. Whitley’s final home game of the regular season is a contest with the Solway Sharks on March 6th at Hillheads.
