Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of Canadian forward Cameron Ware.
Ware, 25, captained Dryden Ice Dogs in the SIJHL before playing ACHA college hockey for three years while at Maryville University in St Louis, Missouri. He moved to the UK last year to further his education in cybersecurity and, after signing for Whitley Warriors, quickly became a fan favourite, grabbing 49 points from 33 games. Ware is an imposing figure on the ice, which runs in the family: Cam is the son of former Murrayfield Racers and Cardiff Devils import Mike Ware.
“It’s great to be back in Whitley and continue to work and battle with a great bunch of guys in the room,” he said. “We have some unfinished business with the SNL and it’s time to show this league why Whitley has always been feared to play against.”
Head Coach Tony Hand was complimentary about the 6’6″ Canadian: “Cam had a good first season and is a big presence on and off the ice. I think there is more to come from Cam now he is used to the UK game and his team mates.”
Welcome back Cam!
