Whitley Warriors are pleased to confirm that youngster’s Jamie Ord and Ross Douglas will be part of their squad for the 2017/18 NIHL North Division 1 campaign. Both teenage forwards appeared for Whitley last term when David Longstaff’s side just missed out on a play off place by the smallest of margins.
Both youngsters will also continue to play junior hockey for Whitley at under 20 level where they will be coached by former Warrior Adam Reynolds. Jamie is set for a busy campaign as the talented young forward will also turn out for the under 18s as well as the 20’s and Warriors.
Ross who is now 18 iced for Warriors on 17 occasions last term as he stepped up into senior hockey for the first time. The youngster’s development was aided by several shifts for Warriors in a variety of different game situations. Ross will no doubt be hoping to continue his hockey education this term under the guidance of Warriors coaching team of David Longstaff and Dave Holland.
Jamie was only eligible to ice for Warriors towards the end of last season once he hit his 16th birthday. He wasted no time in making his mark in NIHL North though as the highly skilled front man netted a goal and an assist in the 3 appearances he made for Warriors. The youngster could well go onto earn himself a regular spot on one of Whitley’s forward lines this season during his first full season in senior hockey.
If any individual or company would like to sponsor Ross, Jamie or any of the other members of the Warriors set up they are invited to make contact through the contact page on Warriors website and then they can be put in touch with Warriors General Manager/Assistant Coach Dave Holland.
