Whitley Warriors can confirm that they will be taking on the Widnes Wild in the promotion/relegation play off at the end of the 2014/15 campaign. The games will take place over the weekend of the 11th/12th of April with Widnes at home on the Saturday (face off tbc) and Whitley at home on the Sunday (face off 5pm).
Whitley Warriors veteran defenceman Paul Matthews is set to return to the ice this weekend after a lengthy spell out of action with an ankle problem. All being well Paul and the Warriors will take on the Manchester Minotaurs on Saturday afternoon in Altrincham before he and his teammates face the Solway Sharks on home ice at 5pm on Sunday at Hillheads.
Whitley Warriors invite sports fans from around the region to ‘Join the Tribe’ on Sunday evening when Warriors face off against the Solway Sharks in a NIHL North Division 1 match up on home ice at Hillheads Ice Rink in Whitley Bay, Tyneside.
Warriors were without a fixture during the last week however Whitley are in action on 2 occasions next weekend when Simon Leach’s side take on the Solway Sharks and Billingham Stars away from home in NIHL North Division 1 action.
Whitley Warriors had a weekend off from their NIHL North Division 1 programme as Simon Leach’s side were not scheduled to take to the ice in competitive action over Valentines weekend. Warriors next game is this coming Sunday when Whitley take on the Blackburn Hawks.
Warriors skipper Jamie Tinsley and the experienced blue liner Dan Harris are both set to ice for Whitley this weekend after being ruled out of recent match ups due to a hand injury and concussion respectively. The versatile Alex Lawson will also be in the back in the Warriors line up.
Whitley Warriors head to the north west on Saturday as Simon Leach’s side take on the Blackburn Hawks in a NIHL North Division 1 match up that gets underway at 5.45pm. Warriors will have defencemen Scott Cooper and Daniel Pye available for the game.
