Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of versatile defenceman Connor Lewis.
Lewis, 18, came through the ranks at Billingham before making the switch to Tyneside in 2021. He captained Whitley Braves while also icing for Warriors in his first season, bagging one senior goal in the process. Last season he played several games as a forward and grabbed 4 goals and 11 eleven assists from 37 games, with 11 minutes in penalties.
“I am really excited to re-sign this year for this great club,” Lewis said. “I thoroughly enjoyed my season last year round and can only expect more for the season coming. I am certain the team can achieve great things in the forthcoming season.”
“Connor had a break out season last year and now I want to help him build on that and establish himself in our team,” Head Coach Tony Hand said.
“I couldn’t have been any luckier to now have been coached by undoubtedly two of the best British hockey players ever within 3 seasons of senior hockey,” Lewis added. “I am sure Tony can now help me develop my game even further to benefit the team.”
