Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of defenceman Liam Smedley.
Smedley iced for Newcastle Vipers, Northern Stars and Billingham Stars junior clubs before moving to the Whitley junior set up in 2013-14. He made his senior debut in 2014-15 and has proven valuable patrolling the blue line over the seven seasons he has had in maroon and gold. He rejoined Warriors late last season after some time away from the game and is happy to put pen to paper for the upcoming campaign.
“I’m excited to be back,” Smedley said. “I believe we’ve got what it takes to bring back some silverware this season and with Tony as Head Coach I think he’ll help put us in a position to do that.”
Head Coach Tony Hand said, “It’s good to have Liam back fit and able to commit for the season ahead.”
