Whitley Warriors are delighted to announce the re-signing of hardworking forward Ross Douglass.

Now heading into his seventh season at the club, 23-year-old Douglass progressed through Whitley’s junior ranks, icing with the Under 15s and Under 18s, fulfilling the role of alternate captain for both sides.

Douglass made his senior debut with the Warriors in his 2016-17 campaign, playing 17 league games in NIHL North 1 further to captaining the Under 20s. The forward then completed his transition to the senior team and bagged 9 goals and 6 assists last season, with 36 minutes in penalties..

“I’m looking forward to getting back training ready for the season,” Douglass said. “It’s exciting to play for a new coach and to follow on from the past couple of seasons and challenge for silverware.”

“Ross is another local lad that has played at all levels in Whitley Bay and had a break out season last year. Now it’s time to build on that,” Head Coach Tony Hand said.
