Whitley Warriors fixtures for the 2017/18 season have been revealed by the EIHA. Warriors competitive campaign gets underway on the 9th September when David Longstaff’s side head up to the Scottish borders to take on the Solway Sharks before a home game against the Blackburn Hawks the following day at Whitley’s Hillheads base on North Tyneside.
Warriors have a number of home league games on Saturday evenings this season which gives the schedule a slightly different look to other recent campaigns. It is hoped that Saturday evening games will be well attended and that they could also help to attract new fans to the sport over the course of the term.
A number of Warriors away games do not have face off times as yet, these will become available in the coming days and weeks as all of the clubs in NIHL North Division 1 finalise their schedules ahead of the new campaign. See the full fixture list here.
Warriors fans are reminded that the first chance to see their team in action is on Sunday September 3rd when Whitley take on the Combined Armed Forces in a game that gets underway at the normal Hillheads face off time of 5pm. The entire Warriors organisation would like to encourage as many supporters as possible to attend the game as the team prepare for the new season in the 2nd tier of the hockey set up in the UK.
